Two Victorian workplace deaths in a tragic 24 hoursVictoria has had a tragic 24 hours with two workplace fatalities occurring as a result of separate incidents, according to WorkSafe Victoria.

On the morning of Thursday, 30 April, a 34-year-old woman died after been crushed by marble slabs inside a shipping container at Dingley Village. It is believed that at the time of the incident she was helping to unload the slabs.

The incident followed the death of a 26-year-old man, who died in hospital on the night of Wednesday, 29 April from serious head injuries that had resulted from a fall at a Templestowe residential construction site on Monday, 27 April.

WorkSafe Victoria is currently investigating both incidents.

These fatalities bring the number of workplace deaths in 2020 so far to 22.
